WOW!!!
Danica - I was her for a day 
…and so the saga continues…. Ok, so remember yesterday, the whole hard drive failure thing? Well, I was so in a tizzy because I had the PowerPoint for “THE seminar” on that hard drive, right?” Well, turns out I copied the presentation onto the server at Dr. Bryant’s Decatur office so he was able to stop by and load it onto his external. The day is saved, right?…WRONG!! How about, this morning, the morning of the seminar…hmmm around 9:15 – 9:20ish am (seminar starts at 10) Dr. B announces that the bulb in the projector is blown!!! It’s a Dell projector, you have to order their bulbs online and we don’t have a BACKUP!! Backup, there is that word again. Keep in mind, this is a “smile” seminar. What’s a smile seminar without visuals of before and after photos of what the good doctor can do?! So, after calling a couple places and being thoroughly disappointed that they don’t carry Dell projector bulbs – I had to think hard and fast because it is now approaching 9:30am (seminar at 10!). So, I was feeling a little lightheaded, Dr. Bryant was sweating, Denice was in la-la land as she made coffee and put the bagels out (gotta keep the show going), and Dr. Allen, mildly offered suggestions. Anyway – as I literally felt my head spinning I said “no more time to try to find a miracle bulb”. I knew I had to find a friend or colleague with a projector. Called my friend and colleague, Chanda, no answer…my head literally spins again. And then there was Dwayne! The trusty old friend who is the tech-master, so surely he has one. And guess what? I called him, he tried small talk, I cut the small talk and said, “look, I need a projector and I need it NOW!”….So I grab my purse, fly out the door, put my Danica Patrick hat on, and there I go! At this point it is 9:35am (seminar at 10) So, I literally drove my 3.5 Altima (so much power that baby has – Dr. B offered his Vette after the fact) like I was on the speedway. I’m ashamed to say that I broke some highway rules, but ,hey, what was I to do? I got there..and got back at 10. Our guests were patiently waiting and we got her done! So, lesson for today…BACKUP….again Backup DRIVES, have backup PLANS, backup EQUIPMENT, etc. etc. And if you are hosting events, get there extra early…give yourself time for disaster and coming up with a solution without nearly passing out and making illegal u-turns! (did I do that?)
